Choose a clear source image
Use an image where the subject is sharp and separated from the background. Hair, transparent objects and very similar foreground/background colors are harder than solid shapes with clear edges. Higher-resolution images usually give the model more detail to work with.
Download as transparent PNG
PNG supports transparency, which is why background-removal tools normally return PNG rather than JPG. If you later need a white or colored background, place the transparent PNG on that background before exporting the final image.
Product photos and marketplace images
For products, use even lighting and avoid strong shadows that merge into the object edge. After removing the background, check corners, handles and gaps inside the product. These small areas are where mistakes are easiest to notice.
Portraits, hair and fine edges
Fine hair and soft edges are more difficult than hard objects. Start from a sharp portrait and avoid heavy compression before removal. View the result over both a light and dark background to catch leftover halos.
Frequently asked questions
What file type keeps the transparent background?
PNG supports transparency and is the usual download format for background-removed images.
Why are some edges imperfect?
Hair, blur, shadows and similar colors between subject and background make separation harder.
Can I resize the result afterward?
Yes. Use the Image Resizer after background removal if you need exact dimensions.
